Tennessee’s leading tackler is expected to miss his second straight game on Saturday night.

Stud linebacker Arion Carter is doubtful for Saturday’s matchup against Oklahoma as he continues to deal with turf toe in both feet, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Carter has been the foundation of Tennessee’s defense in 2025, leading the team with 61 tackles. The junior from Smyrna, Tenn. has been a consistent force all season, but his most impressive play came in Starkville, where he posted a career-high 17 tackles and broke up the final pass in overtime to secure a 41-34 win over Mississippi State.

If Carter is unable to go, it would mark a significant blow to the Volunteer defense already dealing with injuries at multiple positions. Carter’s leadership and on-field production have been central to Tennessee’s defensive identity this season.

Kickoff against the Sooners is set for 7:30 p.m. ET in Neyland Stadium.
