The Volunteers are still without a true running back commit in the 2026 cycle.
That could change soon.
Wisconsin four-star running back Amari Latimer is set to officially visit Rocky Top this weekend for the Vols’ nighttime matchup with Oklahoma, per On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
The 5-foot-11, 230-pound Latimer, ranked No. 313 nationally in the 2026 class, has been committed to Wisconsin since June but remains a top target for Tennessee.
Fox Sports Knoxville reported earlier this month that the Vols were making a strong push for the Sandy Creek (Ga.) standout, and that push has continued as we get closer to National Signing Day.
Running backs coach De’Rail Sims spent part of Tennessee’s bye week in Georgia, where he was on hand to watch Latimer in person.
Tennessee now joins Ohio State and Miami in pursuit of the West Georgia native, who has established himself as one of the most coveted backs in the South.
Latimer’s visit adds another elite prospect to a loaded recruiting weekend in Knoxville, as Tennessee looks to get their running back commit in the 2026 cycle.
