Vols cornerback Colton Hood is listed as day-to-day with a pulled calf muscle sustained in Tennessee’s blowout win over Kentucky, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
His status remains questionable ahead for Saturday’s crucial matchup against Oklahoma.
Hood has been the top cornerback in Tennessee’s secondary since transferring from Colorado, tallying 32 total tackles, four tackles for loss, a fumble-return touchdown, and a pick six through eight games this season.
His potential absence would be a major blow to a cornerback room already dealing with multiple injuries.
If Hood is unavailable, expect increased reps for William Wright and Timothy Merritt, both of whom have seen rotational snaps this fall.
The Vols are already without cornerbacks Jermod McCoy and Rickey Gibson, making Hood’s presence even more essential heading into Saturday night.
Kickoff against the Sooners is set for 7:30 p.m. ET in Neyland Stadium.
