It wasn’t Michigan.
But, it was the Utes.
Utah pulled off a major recruiting win by flipping four-star athlete Salesi Moa from Tennessee on Signing Day, per Rivals’ Greg Biggins.
Moa, ranked No. 45 nationally in the 2026 cycle, had been committed to the Volunteers since July, choosing Tennessee over Utah, Michigan, and Washington.
Moa’s recruitment took a significant turn after his visit to Michigan for The Game against Ohio State, a trip that seemed to solidify his pledge to Tennessee.
Instead, Utah put together a rather large NIL package and leaned heavily on proximity to home.
Moa, a Fremont High standout from Ogden, Utah will now begin his collegiate career less than 40 miles away from home in Salt Lake City.
This stings.
Moa was anticipated to start his career in Knoxville as a wide receiver under position coach Kelsey Pope, and was expected to bring a ton of speed and versatility to the Vols wide receiver room.
Instead, Utah adds an elite piece to close out its 2026 cycle.
