The Volunteers scored a major recruiting victory on National Signing Day, flipping three-star defensive lineman JJ Finch from Alabama, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett

Finch, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound mauler out of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis is rated the No. 571 overall prospect nationally and a top-10 player in Indiana.

Finch originally committed to Alabama in June over Tennessee, Michigan, and Miami.

The Vols never backed off Finch.

Defensive line coach Rodney Garner kept steady contact with Finch after his official visit to Knoxville on June 13, and that persistence paid off on signing day.

Finch also made an unofficial visit on Nov. 1, when Tennessee fell to Oklahoma.

Flipping Finch from the Tide gives Tennessee a massive recruiting win as the Vols close out National Signing Day.
