‘This Shit’s Hard’ Says Mark Stoops Ahead Of Another Disappointing Kentucky Football Season

I’m sure it is, Mark Stoops.

I certainly do not envy the Kentucky Wildcats coach.

You’re in a state that is often regarded as less-than-desirable to live in.

You’re always going to be an afterthought when compared to the school’s basketball team.

You’ve got the entire SEC to compete with on your southern border and Ohio State to deal with at your northern border when it comes to recruiting.

Even at a school where the pressure to be good at football is relatively low, Stoops will almost certainly find himself on the hot seat this season.

Things have become somewhat… stagnant… in Lexington after back-to-back 7-6 seasons in 2022 and ‘23 and a 4-8 mark last year.

Overall, Stoops is 77-73 at Kentucky. About as mid as it gets.

It will be interesting tomorrow to see where the SEC media votes Kentucky to finish in the conference.

I doubt it will be anywhere higher than 14th.

Shit’s gonna be hard, indeed.
