My New Favorite Player: Miles Kitselman Takes A Bit Of A Shot At Nico

For the second day in a row I find myself loving a quote from Vols senior tight end Miles Kitselman.

He is quickly becoming — perhaps — my favorite player on this year’s team.

Yesterday you may have seen where Kitselman called out the haters who are down on Tennessee this season.

(Don’t be surprised when the Vols are 7-0 after the Alabama game!)

Now, today we get a new Kitselman quote via the 3HL radio show out of Nashville.

Kitselman interviewed with the 104.5 crew at SEC Media Days and took a bit of a shot at Nico Iamaleava:

“(Last year) it was like ‘where is the voice on this team?’ And it should’ve been me…(Now) these quarterbacks aren’t afraid to rip into it.”

Tremendous. I love hearing a senior leader on the team being honest with the fans. This guy gets it.

He knows Tennessee is going to need leadership this season and he’s putting the Vols brand on his own back.

Kitselman is excited about his new quarterback, too:

"I don’t think we could have asked for a better dude."

“A month into it… he’s best friends with almost everybody on the team. That’s very hard to do."

Hell yeah.
