In a surprising development, Tennessee quarterback commit Faizon Brandon saw a noticeable shift in his recruiting rankings as Rivals unveiled its updated Rivals250.

Brandon, once ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect and widely regarded as the top quarterback in the 2026 class, dropped to No. 33 nationally in Rivals’ latest recruiting rankings.

Once considered a consensus five-star and the top quarterback in his class, Brandon is now a four-star prospect and the No. 3 quarterback in the nation behind Texas commit Dia Bell and Georgia commit Jared Curtis. Other outlets, such as ESPN and 247Sports, still list Brandon as a five-star– a ranking many believe he still deserves.

The 6-foot-3.5, 195 pound standout from Greensboro, North Carolina committed to Tennessee in August of 2024 over SEC foes LSU, Alabama, and Georgia.

Despite the rankings drop, Faizon Brandon remains the cornerstone of the Vols’ 2026 class and was a major recruiting win for Head Coach Josh Heupel. Brandon has continued to impress scouts during the off-season, turning heads at the Elite 11 quarterback camp last month.

As Brandon enters his senior season at Grimsley High School, he will have every opportunity to cement his status once again as the top quarterback in the country before he heads to Knoxville in December.
