KNOXVILLE – Tennessee hoops landed one of the top freshmen in the ACC this past season as Notre Dame transfer forward Jalen Haralson announced his commitment to the Vols after taking an official visit to Knoxville on Tuesday.
Haralson, who announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Apr. 2, chose Tennessee over North Carolina and Ohio State. The Anderson (IN) native averaged 16.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while playing 26.6 minutes a night during his freshman campaign in South Bend.
The 6-foot-7, 220 pound forward appeared in 27 games for the Fighting Irish, starting 23, and shot 51.5% from the field. He also added 2.6 assists and 0.5 steals per game, earning All-ACC Honorable Mention honors.
Haralson becomes the fourth transfer portal addition for Tennessee, joining Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade, Cal guard Dai Dai Ames, and Loyola Chicago center Miles Rubin as Rick Barnes continues reshaping his roster for next season.
