OKLAHOMA CITY – Tennessee closed out its home slate with an 11-2 win over Belmont on Tuesday and now turns its attention to Oklahoma City for a three-game series against Oklahoma at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, home of the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets. The Vols enter the weekend at 34-18 and 13-14 in SEC play, while the Sooners sit at 31-18 and 13-14.
This marks the first meeting between the programs as conference opponents and the first matchup overall since Oklahoma beat Tennessee 5-1 at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington in February of 2024.
Tegan Kuhns gets the start tonight as the sophomore right hander looks to build on his dominant outing against Texas last Friday. Kuhns fanned a career-high 15 Longhorns across 7 innings, with his 15th coming on his 113th and final pitch in a 5-1 win.
Senior left-hander Evan Blanco is set to start Friday after delivering 7 strong innings against No. 4 Texas last weekend. Blanco allowed 5 earned runs and struck out 8 while throwing a career-high 111 pitches in Tennessee’s 14-9 win that clinched the series.
Sunday’s starter remains to be determined as the Vols await the status of Rutgers transfer Landon Mack, who has been dealing with general arm soreness.
First pitch tonight is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network Plus as Tennessee looks to finish the regular season strong and bolster its resume ahead of next week’s SEC Tournament in Hoover.
