KNOXVILLE – Tennessee baseball enters the final night of its nine-game homestand sitting at 29‑15 overall and 10‑11 in SEC play, and the Vols look to close the stretch strong as they welcome West Georgia to Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Tennessee is 5‑3 through the first eight games of the homestand, highlighted by a series win over No. 13 Alabama this past weekend. The Vols also picked up a pair of SEC weekly awards on Monday after pummeling the Crimson Tide in Friday’s doubleheader.

Sophomore right-hander Tegan Kuhns earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors after striking out 9 Alabama hitters and throwing eight scoreless innings for his first-career complete game shutout in Tennessee’s 10-0 run-rule win. Trent Grindlinger was named SEC Co‑Freshman of the Week after going 8-15 with three home runs and six RBIs, including three multi-hit games during the Vols’ four game week.

True freshman Cameron Appenzeller is set to make his first-career start tonight. The left-hander will look to bounce back after allowing four-earned runs in 3.1 innings on Thursday against Alabama.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Eastern on SEC Network Plus as Tennessee looks to improve to 3‑0 all-time against the Wolves.
