The Nike vs. Adidas UT uniform debate has turned into quite an argument between fans of which brand the Vols should go with next.
It appears that some Tennessee football players have a strong opinion toward keeping the Nike look.
Yesterday, CollegeFootballU on Instagram posted a photo of a Tennessee football player with the caption, “Back to Adidas.”
Afterwards some Vols chimed in by posting on their own Instagram stories.
That included defensive back Kaleb Beasley who said “nasty work” with a facepalm emoji.
Incoming wide receiver Travis Smith Jr. simply posted the slap in the face emoji.
Defensive lineman Ethan Utley posted the :/ face, whatever that means.
While player opinion is important in the process, it is important to note the possible move to Adidas could see the Vols receiving a significant payday.
With the way college athletics are trending currently, that money could then go to players to help NIL, while allowing donors’ money to reach wider throughout the athletic department.
It’ll be interesting to see what comes of the debate in the coming weeks.
