Zakai Zeigler has filed a lawsuit seeking a fifth year of eligibility from the NCAA.

The suit filed says that “the NCAA’s rule permitting only four seasons of competition within the five-year eligibility window is an unlawful restraint of trade under federal and state antitrust laws.”

It’s also been shared that Zeigler has representation from the Garza Law Firm and Litson PLLC.

Zeigler has been an important piece to the Vols over the past four seasons on the court as well as in the locker room.

Jordan Gainey has also teased the idea of coming back for a fifth year if the rule passes.

The Tennessee roster is already looking good with incoming transfers Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Jaylen Carey, and Amaree Abram all set to take the court this season.

Not to mention the addition of five-star recruit Nate Ament.

If UT is able to get Zakai back this fall they have the potential to have the deepest roster (on paper) in the entire country.

Either way Tennessee will be a good team next year, but the addition of a Zakai return could lead to the Vols’ first ever Final Four.

Let’s just hope the NCAA is kind to Tennessee this time.
