Huge News: Tennessee Basketball Is Hosting Duke In October
By Cody McClure
OK it’s just an exhibition, so relax, but still… pretty cool.
Tennessee is playing Duke in an exhibition game at Thompson-Boling Arena on October 26th per a couple of local sources.
UT is also “working to finalize” a matchup vs. Michigan, per Knox News and VolQuest. That game would likely be in Ann Arbor.
“The NCAA men's basketball committee approved a proposal in January to allow teams to play two exhibitions,” Mike Wilson wrote. “It changed the rule from prior years that exhibitions could be held if proceeds were donated to charity. Schools can decide how to allocate the revenue generated from the exhibitions.”
This has been a trend in recent years for the Vols. Tennessee has played in preseason games vs. Indiana, Michigan State, and Gonzaga in recent years.
But Duke coming to Knoxville… a true blue blood… this should be the best one yet.
The Cooper Flagg-less Blue Devils will be seeking revenge against a program that knocked them out of the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
It was a true display of toughness and physicality against the traditionally finesse Duke program.
Uros Plavsic and the gang just totally dominated those soft Duke boys. Never mind the fact that Florida Atlantic then out-toughed us one week later.
You win some, you lose some.
Ticket information, game times, and TV info for the Tennessee-Duke game will be announced later, per the report.
