Lady Vol Softball Season Comes To An End With Shutout Loss To Texas

Tennessee lost to Texas 2-0 this afternoon at the Women’s College World Series.
The Lady Vols dropped their second game in the double elimination tournament in Oklahoma City after previously winning two games in a row vs. Florida and UCLA.
UT first lost on Friday against Oklahoma in a heartbreaking walk-off.
The Lady Vols would have had to win two semifinal games against the Longhorns today to advance to the championship round.
Texas will now face the winner of Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
For the Lady Vols, the season ends at 47-17.
Pitcher Karlyn Pickens was outstanding yet again today, throwing over 100 pitches and allowing only one earned run.
