Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell has been named a semifinalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, an honor presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding Division I offensive player who either graduated from a Texas high school or plays college football at a Texas four-year institution.
The Midland, Texas native and graduate of Midland Legacy High School, Brazzell began his career at Tulane before transferring to Tennessee.
In his second season in Knoxville, Brazzell delivered a breakout campaign, posting career-highs with 62 receptions, leading the SEC with 1,017 receiving yards, and adding nine touchdowns.
Brazzell’s performance earned him a spot among 22 semifinalists for the award.
The list includes Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King, Texas Tech running back Cameron Dickey, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, and Texas A&M standouts Marcel Reed and Mario Craver.
