DeSean Bishop Selected to Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List

KNOXVILLE – It’s officially watch‑list season.
Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop has been named to the Maxwell Award preseason watch list, the Maxwell Club announced Monday morning.
Bishop, a Knoxville native and former walk‑on, started all 13 games for Tennessee as a redshirt and rushed for 1,076 yards and 16 touchdowns on 182 carries. He added 15 receptions for 135 yards and led the Volunteers with 1,211 all‑purpose yards. A Karns High School product, Bishop ranked fourth in the SEC in rushing yards and fifth in rushing yards per game at 82.8 yards per contest.
The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding player in college football. Semifinalists will be announced Nov. 10, finalists will be named Nov. 24, and the winner will be revealed Dec. 10 at the College Football Awards show.
