We all heard the nightmare stories about Vol fans struggling to get into the stadium and to their seats during Saturday’s game against Georgia.

Thankfully, Danny White listened.

The director of athletics has announced several updates aimed at improving the gameday experience for fans attending Neyland Stadium this fall.

To ease congestion, gates will now open 30 minutes earlier than in previous seasons.

All fans can enter Neyland at 10:15 a.m. this weekend against UAB.

Gate 20 will also reopen to general admission, while students continue to enter at Gate 4 on the southeast corner.

UT is also encouraging students to walk down Lake Loudoun Boulevard and turn left onto Phillip Fulmer Way at the Pat Summitt statue.

The Pride of the Southland’s Band’s march has also been rerouted. Beginning at 11:05 a.m. this Saturday, the band will start at Pat Summitt Street, turn left onto Volunteer Boulevard, and proceed down the Johnson-Ward Pedestrian Walkway before entering Neyland.

Some security protocols have been adjusted as well.

Fans entering from the south end of Neyland will notice an altered security perimeter at the bottom of Peyton Manning Pass.

“Fans will be asked to walk through metal detectors on the southeast corner of Neyland Stadium, closer to the Zeanah Engineering building, while exiting the middle walkway of G10 garage onto the south pedestrian walkway, on Phillip Fulmer Way outside of the G10 entrance, at the exit point of G5/30 on Phillip Fulmer Way,” UT also announced.

These changes will go into effect starting with Tennessee’s home matchup against UAB this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
