Maybe it was just the quarterback last season, but Chris Brazzell II didn’t need long to show year two in Knoxville would be different.
After a modest debut season at Tennessee, the former Tulane transfer has excelled out of the gate in 2025.
Through just three games, Brazzell has already eclipsed his 2024 totals in receiving yards and touchdowns, totaling 20 catches for 364 yards and five scores. His signature performance came this past weekend against Georgia, where he shredded the No. 6 Bulldogs for 177 yards and three touchdowns on six receptions.
It's a significant jump for the Midland, Texas native who caught 29 passes for 333 yards and just two touchdowns all of last season. Brazzell’s improved route running and chemistry with quarterback Joey Aguilar has made him a mainstay target in the Vols' retooled passing attack.
With SEC play starting to heat up, Brazzell’s emergence gives UT a proven threat on the outside.
The Vols will look to bounce back from their early-season loss when they host UAB at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff set for 12:45 p.m ET on SEC Network.
