KNOXVILLE – Tennessee sophomore right-hander Brayden Krenzel is entering the transfer portal after two seasons in Knoxville, as first reported by Eric Cain of VolQuest. Krenzel becomes the first pitcher to depart the program this offseason.

Krenzel showed promise as a freshman in 2024, appearing in 21 games with two starts while posting a 3-0 record and a 4.68 ERA. The Dublin (Ohio) native struck out 41 batters in 32.2 innings and quickly emerged as a reliable bullpen arm for the Volunteers.

His sophomore season took a step back. Krenzel appeared in 20 games and threw 17.1 innings, finishing with a 9.35 ERA and a 2-3 record. He recorded two saves in 2025, including his first career save in a 5-4 win over Oakland on Mar. 7.

The 6-foot-3, 226 pound right hander becomes the fourth Volunteer to enter the portal, joining infielders Ethan Moore and Ariel Antigua along with sophomore utility player Chris Newstrom.
