Vols LHP/OF Taylor Tracey Hits Transfer Portal After One Season

KNOXVILLE – Tennessee freshman Taylor Tracey is entering the transfer portal after one season on Rocky Top, per Eric Cain of VolQuest.

Tracey showed promise as a freshman on the mound, appearing in 15 games with 5 starts while posting a 1-0 record and a 3.26 ERA. The Austin native struck out 28 batters in 19.1 innings and emerged as a reliable bullpen arm during Josh Elander’s debut season as head coach.

His lone SEC start came against his hometown school, Texas, in the final regular season home conference game. Tracey failed to make it out of the first inning, allowing 4 earned runs on 2 hits and 3 walks before being pulled after 0.2 innings.

The 6-foot-6, 205 pound two-way player becomes the 12th Volunteer to enter the transfer portal, joining infielders Ethan Moore, Ariel Antigua, and Finley Bates; outfielders Jay Abernathy and Hutson Chance; utility players Chris Newstrom and Hunter High; right-handers Brayden Krenzel and Ari Bethea; first baseman/left-hander Evan Hankins; and catcher/outfielder Cash Williams.
