Rick Barnes and Vol basketball added another key piece to its future Wednesday evening.

Three-star point guard Marquis Clark, a 6-foot-1, 175-pounder out of Whitney Young High School in Chicago, announced his commitment to the Volunteers, choosing Tennessee over Iona, Ball State, Southern Illinois, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Western Michigan, he told Sam Kayser of League Ready.

Iona, Ball State, SIU, PFW, and WMU.

True powerhouses.

Clark is ranked No. 252 nationally in the 2026 cycle and took official visits to each of his finalists.

The Chicago native is the third member of Tennessee’s 2026 class, joining four-star forwards Ralph Scott and Manny Green.

With Clark’s commitment, Rick Barnes adds a developmental floor general who thrives in transition and is one of the top defensive guards in the ‘26 cycle.

Clark’s official visit to Knoxville this past weekend coincided with the Volunteers’ 34–31 win over Arkansas, giving him a firsthand look at the energy inside Neyland, and a taste of what he can expect at Thompson-Boling.

With Clark, Scott, and Green now on board, Rick Barnes’ 2026 class is officially shaping up as National Signing Day approaches.
