Tennessee senior tight end and the culprit of the blurgate saga, Miles Kitselman has been named to the 2025 John Mackey Award preseason watch list, solidifying his position among the top tight ends in college football heading into the season.
The John Mackey Award is presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding tight end, with Kitselman’s inclusion reflecting his on-field production in his first season as a starter in 2024.
After transferring from Alabama, Kitselman started all thirteen games for the Volunteers in 2024, logging 301 receiving yards on 22 receptions and four touchdowns, and even adding a rushing score. His five total touchdowns ranked third among SEC tight ends.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Lyndon, Kansas native is entering his fifth season of college football, having been granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA in December 2024 due to playing his freshman season at Hutchinson C.C.
As the Vols prepare for the season with a change at quarterback, Kitselman’s leadership and proven production will be central to Josh Heupel’s offensive game plan.
The recipient of the John Mackey Award will be presented at the College Football Awards Show on Friday, Dec. 12 on ESPN.
