At this point, Georgia’s offseason arrest count might need its own depth chart.
Just when you thought the Bulldogs had mastered the art of minor traffic infractions, they’ve gone and raised the benchmark.
Forget the expired tags and speeding tickets– we have officially reached the “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon” phase of the Kirby Smart era.
The latest screw-up comes from class of 2026 four-star safety commit Chace Calicut, the top-200 ranked prospect was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, per FOX26.
The report alleges a ‘violent driving incident’ on July 6th in Houston involving Calicut, driving erratically, forcing another car to brake to avoid a collision– followed by his passenger pointing a handgun, and then… gunshots.
Yeah, you read that shit right. Gunshots.
Seriously, Georgia, what happens when these kids visit Athens? At this point, it feels like recruits should just take their mugshot at Clarke County Jail during official visits to get it over with.
Once again, all eyes turn to Kirby Smart. I get that Calicut isn’t on campus yet, but still, how in the hell is this not being drilled into these kids' heads?
Thank the Lord the Bulldogs are still national title contenders– because if they weren’t, this ongoing string of arrests could actually be a problem for ol’ Kirby.
