Do you ever find yourself wondering what Hendon Hooker is up to?
A guy so beloved by Vol Nation. A guy who brought us all so much joy. A guy who may be the best Tennessee quarterback since Peyton Manning.
Most fans know that Hooker is playing for the Detroit Lions in the NFL. But it seems his time in the pros up to this point has been relatively quiet.
Of course, our beloved VFL is only a backup. He hasn’t really had much of a chance to show what he’s got on the field yet.
With that said, Lions head coach Dan Campbell seems to be impressed by what he’s seen from Hooker lately.
“Look… Hooker knows the deal, man,” Campbell said. “[He’s] out here to compete. We gave him some things to do while he was home. Talking about working on some of the urgency, the footwork, certainly continued training.
“It’s only one day but, man, I liked what I saw out there yesterday. There’s an urgency. I thought his footwork was on. I thought he was spitting the plays out.”
Urgency. Footwork. Understands the plays — all good to hear from the head coach.
We’ll have to keep an eye out on Hooker’s pro career this year. Hopefully he will get an opportunity.
After all, he’s only one Jared Goff injury away from taking the field.
