The Bags Are Coming Out In College Station

Just like 2022, the Aggies are throwing bags around again.

Five-star Cornerback Brandon Arrington committed Thursday to Texas A&M over Oregon. The 6-2.5 180-pound prospect from Spring Valley, CA is ranked as the No. 9 prospect  and the No. 1 Cornerback in the country. Arrington insists that his decision was based on development rather than NIL. Arrington went on to say in an interview that he “doesn’t talk about (money) at all” when taking visits to schools. Even going on to say “I don’t care about the money”

Surely everyone believes that, right?

This decision comes days after Texas A&M secured a commitment from the No. 2 Running Back in the country KJ Edwards on Tuesday. Edwards, who was presumed to be headed to Texas, canceled his Longhorn official visit for this weekend and abruptly committed to the Ags after setting a commitment date for August 2nd. Turns out August was just too long of a wait when opportunity knocks with a duffel bag.

Four-star Offensive Tackle Samuel Roseborough took official visits to Texas A&M from June 6th-8th and Texas from June 13th-15th. Roseborough committed to the Aggies the day after his official visit to Texas, June 16th. While the Clearwater, FL native could just prefer the smell of cow manure in College Station, others suggest NIL may have been a prominent factor. OnTexasFootball’s CJ Vogel reported after Roseborough’s commitment that “the number put forward from the Texas side of things did not meet the number put forth out of College Station.”

The bags won’t just stop there for the Aggies, they have plenty of five-stars and highly rated recruits they still have their eyes on. Five-star D-Lineman Lamar Brown is the No. 7 ranked prospect and announces July 10th (or tomorrow, who knows) between LSU, A&M, and Texas. Five-star No. 1 ranked Safety Bralan Womack announces in August, with the Ags near the top with Ohio State.

Texas A&M is also in the mix with a slew of other elite top 100 prospects including 4-star Offensive Tackle John Turntine, No. 5 ranked Wide Receiver Boobie Feaster, and 4-star Duncanville, TX D-Line KJ Ford.

Aggies might not break their record of spending $25 million on their recruiting class, but they are most definitely trying.
