KNOXVILLE – Tennessee baseball is back at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Tuesday night for the fifth game of its nine game homestand, hosting in-state Lipscomb in a midweek matchup as the Vols look to rebound after a not-so-great weekend.
After dropping the series to No. 22 Ole Miss, Tennessee salvaged the finale on Sunday in emphatic fashion with a 13-5 win behind six Volunteer home runs. Redshirt sophomore Blake Grimmer delivered one of the best individual performances in program history, tying the single game school record by becoming the eighth Vol ever to hit three home runs in a game, going deep in the 3rd, 7th, and 8th innings to help Tennessee pull away.
Levi Clark added two home runs of his own, launching a pair of two-run shots in the 3rd and 4th innings as Tennessee’s offense erupted to avoid the sweep.
Tennessee enters the matchup holding a 14-3 advantage in the all-time series against Lipscomb, as first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on SEC Network+.
