Rick Barnes and the Vol Hoops program got a big win recently as Ethan Burg has reportedly been granted multiple years of college eligibility.
Burg, an international combo guard from Israel, committed to the Vols last week and became UT’s final piece of the 2025-26 roster.
Burg had already been ruled eligible by the NCAA when he committed to Tennessee, as first reported by 247Sports’ Ben McKee, but he didn’t know how many years he would get.
He had already played professionally in Israel the last two seasons, so there was some concern that Burg may get as little as one year of eligibility at UT.
But luckily for Burg and the Vols, he’ll get three years of college ball, 247Sports reported yesterday.
The newcomer is expected to be listed as a true sophomore on Tennessee’s roster.
Burg will be expected to compete for playing time right away. He averaged 11 points per game and shot close to 33 percent last season in Israel.
