SEC Roadtrip Preview: Fanrun Hits Columbus For No. 1 Texas vs. No. 3 Ohio State

It’s time for vengeance on those poisonous acorns.

Fanrun is hitting the road Thursday for quite possibly the most anticipated season opener in college football history.

No 1. Texas vs. No. 3 Ohio State. What a scene it’s going to be.

While most eyes at noon ET around eastern Tennessee will be focused on the Vols opener with Syracuse, the rest of the college football world will be tuned into Columbus for a matchup that will be rich with playoff implications.

Texas enters as preseason No. 1 for the first time in program history. You’d think the Longhorns would have a target on their back but Arch Manning isn’t buying it: “The target's not on our back. We have a red dot on everyone else."

On the other side, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin will be making his first career start for the Buckeyes, and he has every weapon he could ask for– wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, plus arguably the top tight end in the country in Max Clare.

College Gameday will be live from the Horseshoe and it’ll be an emotional one with it being Coach Lee Corso’s final show. One last headgear pick. One last “Not so fast, my friend!” The man who helped define our college football Saturdays is putting on his final headgear in the same place he put on his first.

We all know he’s choosing Brutus.

Fox Big Noon Kickoff will also be on campus, but not without a week-full of controversy.

Dave Portnoy, recently added to the BNK crew and Michigan graduate, is reportedly banned from entering Ohio State’s stadium.

Absolutely soft. You’re playing Texas not Michigan, guys.

Stay tuned for the recap article coming Tuesday and where I’ll be heading for Week 2 of SEC Roadtrips.

It should be an incredibly electric college football season.

Also, shoutout Sam Beard for the Wario’s Beef and Pork recommendation. The chicken cutlet sandwich is already circled on my itinerary.
