Prayers Answered: Callahan Hands Off Play-Calling For Titans

This is a great first step in getting this calamity out of Nashville.

For the first three weeks of the NFL season, the Titans’ offense has been so putrid that it makes me physically ill to watch what Cam Ward has to endure.

It’s not just the play on the field that shows you how awful the offense has been.

The numbers back it up too.

The Titans sit dead last in the NFL in net yardage at -454, an appalling number that perfectly illustrates how inept Brian Callahan’s play-calling has been through three weeks.

Sunday’s 41-20 rout at home against the Colts was the breaking point.

Callahan was booed off the field by fans at halftime, with chants of “Fire Callahan” ringing out around Nissan Stadium.

Fans are livid, but Callahan sure as hell isn’t losing sleep over it.

“I don’t really worry about that, to be honest,” Callahan told reporters after the game. “My focus is on trying to make sure our football team is in as good a place as possible and the rest of that stuff is what it is. I don’t think about those things, and you really can’t. I mean this is hard enough as it is to put those other things and think about that. It doesn’t do anybody any good. So, I just go to work and work as hard as I can. I put as much effort as I can into this and that is what it is.”

Now, the play-calling duties pass to former Vol QB and quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, per Adam Schefter, who has worked closely with Cam Ward and the quarterback's room since his arrival.

Let’s be real though–nobody's going to be happy until Callahan gets his ass out of Nashville.
