Vols Land Baylor Infielder Travis Sanders Through Transfer Portal

KNOXVILLE – The Vols’ infield is starting to take shape. Baylor transfer infielder Travis Sanders announced his commitment to Tennessee on Friday morning after an impressive redshirt junior season with the Bears.

Sanders, a native of Copperas Cove (Tex.), was outstanding during his two years in Waco. A 2026 All-Big 12 Second Team selection, he hit .369 with a .458 OBP while appearing in 54 games this past season. He posted a 1.043 OPS, launched 9 home runs and drove in 44 runs on 82 hits across 222 at bats, striking out 64 times.

Sanders began his career at Texas Tech, spending two seasons in Lubbock and redshirting one before transferring to Baylor. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 193 pounds, he now becomes the second infielder to commit to Tennessee through the transfer portal, joining Air Force second baseman Wyatt Hanoian.
