Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar could arrive on campus sooner than anticipated.

Austin Price of VolQuest appeared on Nashville radio’s 104.5 The Zone earlier today and helped give a clearer picture on when the Vols’ newest QB would officially be at UT.

“If everything works out … Joey told me last night that they're trying to get all of his stuff finalized with Appalachian State for graduation,” Price said. “If he's able to get all of that done and get everything sent over, he could be here next week … that's the hope."

That’s good news for the Tennessee. The coaching staff is going to need as much time as possible to get Aguilar familiar with the playbook.

Luckily, he’s already been studying it, per Price.

“He's been looking at the playbook and trying to familiarize himself with it. Coach [Joey] Halzle's been out on the road recruiting so I don't think they've spent a ton of time on Zooms or anything to this point. …

"Once he gets here, it will be very much accelerated," Price noted. “He’ll hit the ground running as soon as he gets here.”
