Tennessee baseball made a quick pivot in its strength and conditioning department.

Earlier Friday, Mike Wilson of the Knox News Sentinel reported that longtime strength coach Quentin Eberhardt is leaving the University of Tennessee to join Tony Vitello with the San Francisco Giants.

Eberhardt had been a big part of the Tennessee baseball staff under Vitello, helping the Volunteers win their first national championship in program history.

The Vols wasted no time in finding his replacement.

Ben McKee of GoVols247 reported that Tennessee is hiring Keegan Knoll, who spent the 2025 season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The 34-year-old Knoll spent seven seasons with the Chicago Cubs before joining the Brewers.

He also served as an assistant strength coach at Long Beach State for four years, giving him some experience in the collegiate ranks.

Knoll’s arrival marks a new chapter for the Vols strength and conditioning staff as Tennessee looks to keep postseason success continuing under new head coach Josh Elander.
