KNOXVILLE – Head coach Josh Elander and Tennessee baseball have relieved pitching coach JoshReynolds of his duties, per Mike Wilson of VolQuest.

Reynolds spent two seasons on staff in Knoxville, originally joining the program as Tennessee’s Director of Baseball Operations and Pitching Performance after serving as Cincinnati’s pitching coach in 2024.

In a press release, Elander said, “I want to thank Josh Reynolds for his hard work and dedication to the Tennessee baseball program during his two seasons in Knoxville, but I have decided it’s best for our program to move in a different direction from a pitching standpoint at this time.”

After former pitching coach Frank Anderson followed Tony Vitello to San Francisco to become the Giants pitching coach, Elander promoted Reynolds ahead of the 2026 season following a year in which the Vols had five pitchers selected in the MLB Draft, including first rounders Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips.

In his lone season as pitching coach, Tennessee recorded a 4.72 team ERA after posting a 4.06 ERA in 2025, which ranked 14th nationally in Division 1.
