PITTSBURGH – Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy was selected with the No. 101 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh, becoming the third Volunteer to be taken in this year’s draft, and the first on Day 3.

McCoy’s rise to the NFL Draft capped a remarkable comeback story. The Oregon State transfer missed the entire 2025 season after tearing his ACL in January of 2025, but posted a 4.38 40-yard dash at Tennessee’s Pro Day in late March that reaffirmed his status as one of the top cornerbacks in the class.

Before the injury, McCoy delivered a standout debut season in Knoxville. He posted 44 tackles and nine pass breakups in 2024, earning Second-Team All-American honors and helped lead a Tennessee defense that powered the Vols to their first ever College Football Playoff appearance.

McCoy joins fellow cornerback Colton Hood and wide receiver Chris Brazell II as Vols selected through the NFL Draft thus far.
