KNOXVILLE – Jermod McCoy just cemented his first-round status Tuesday. The Tennessee cornerback recorded a 4.38 40-yard dash along with a 38‑inch vertical and a 10‑foot‑7 broad jump at the Vols’ Pro Day, a full athletic showcase after he chose not to run at the NFL Draft Combine earlier this month after suffering a torn ACL in Jan. of 2025 and missing the entire past season.

McCoy has been projected as a first‑round pick throughout the pre‑draft process, including going No. 12 to the Dallas Cowboys in ESPN’s latest mock draft. At 6-foot with long speed and fluidity, McCoy’s testing reaffirmed what the All-American cornerback did during his sophomore campaign.

The former Oregon State standout transferred to Tennessee prior to the 2024 season and immediately became the top defensive back on the Vols defense. He posted 44 tackles and nine pass breakups in his lone season playing in Knoxville, earning Second‑Team All‑American honors and helping lead Tennessee to its first‑ever College Football Playoff appearance.
