Vols Impress Texas Five‑Star WR Commit Easton Royal on Weekend Visit
By Aidan Sidoti
Five‑star wide receiver and Texas commit Easton Royal made his first trip to Tennessee over the weekend and left Knoxville more than impressed.
“The visit blew me out of the water,” Royal told Rivals. “The atmosphere, how the city connects to the campus, the coaches, I liked it all. I had never been to Tennessee before, so it was a cool experience.”
Royal, ranked the No. 9 overall prospect in the country and No. 1 player in Louisiana, committed to Texas on Nov. 29 of 2025, but Tennessee has positioned itself firmly in the race after hosting the pass-catcher for the first time. Royal confirmed he will return to Knoxville for an official visit scheduled for June 4-6.
The New Orleans native has been busy on the trail this month, taking unofficial visits to Florida on March 11 and Ole Miss on March 19 before heading to Tennessee. He is set to return to Austin for another unofficial visit with the Longhorns on April 17, followed by a trip to in‑state LSU on April 24.
Royal already has four official visits locked in for the summer. He will see LSU again from May 28–30, head back to Knoxville from June 5–7, travel to Gainesville from June 11-13, and wrap up with Texas from June 19-21.
As a junior at Brother Martin High School, Royal dominated Louisiana’s highest classification, earning 5A Offensive MVP and first‑team all‑state honors from the Louisiana Football Coaches Association. He finished the season with 2,095 all‑purpose yards and 29 total touchdowns, cementing himself as one of the most explosive playmakers in the 2027 cycle.
Tennessee made a strong impression on his first visit, and with an official visit already set, the Vols have firmly inserted themselves into the race as Royal’s recruitment continues to heat up.
