ESPN has released their latest FPI model projecting every SEC team’s finish in the conference this season.
The models still seem to be relatively high on the Vols as they are ranked fifth in the conference with a 4.2% chance to win the SEC.
Texas was first with a 34% chance while Georgia followed with a 26.9% chance.
Alabama and Texas A&M’s percentages also ranked just ahead of UT.
Tennessee was ranked above some teams that are expected to be competitive this year including LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, and Oklahoma.
The model seems to project that with a solid defensive showing Tennessee will still be decent despite a young WR corps and new QB battle.
Tennessee kicks of their season August 30th against Syracuse in Atlanta at Noon ET.
