Indianapolis (In.) edge rusher Jayce Brewer narrowed his recruitment to six schools on Monday and the Vols made the cut. The 2027 four-star released a top group of Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Auburn, Michigan, and Purdue, and has locked in an official visit to Knoxville for June 12-14, per Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong.
Brewer, a 6-foot-4, 240-pounder out of Franklin Central High School, is ranked the No. 285 prospect nationally and the No. 5 player in the state of Indiana. Tennessee has been heavily involved in this recruitment, and the Vols will get their shot in the middle of a busy official visit slate.
The incoming senior has a full schedule lined up:
Purdue: April 10-12
Indiana: April 24-26
Auburn: May 29-31
Kentucky: June 5-7
Tennessee: June 12-14
Michigan: June 19-21
Brewer told Rivals that two programs have separated themselves early.
“I would say IU and Tennessee stand out the most,” Brewer said. “I would say the relationship I built with the (Tennessee) coaching staff.”
Tennessee’s June weekend sets up as a pivotal opportunity as the Vols continue to build momentum in the 2027 class and push to land one of the Midwest’s top defensive prospects.
