Vols freshman forward Nate Ament has been named SEC Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season after another standout two-game stretch that helped propel Tennessee to wins over Oklahoma and Vanderbilt.

Ament averaged 21 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 40% from three in Tennessee’s 2-0 week, which included an 89-66 home win over Oklahoma and a gutsy 69-65 road victory at Vanderbilt. His biggest moment came in Nashville, where he buried the game-winner with under a minute left, a shot that capped off a bruising afternoon in which the freshman repeatedly hit the deck.

This marks Ament’s sixth weekly honor, further cementing his status as one of the most productive first‑year players in the country.

If you were raising your eyebrows about why Arkansas’ Darius Acuff Jr. didn’t win the award, Acuff took home SEC Player of the Week instead, which makes sense after dropping 49 points in 50 minutes at Alabama and following it up with 20 more in a win over Missouri.

The Vols, winners of eight of their last nine, now turn their attention to Columbia. Tennessee travels to face Missouri on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on SEC Network as they look to keep climbing the SEC standings.
