Four-Star LB Roman Igwebuike Names Tennessee in Top Five, Sets Official Visit

KNOXVILLE – Four-star linebacker Roman Igwebuike released his top five schools Thursday afternoon with Tennessee included among the finalists alongside Indiana, Clemson, Missouri, and Notre Dame, Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett reports. The Chicago native and Mount Carmel High School standout is the top ranked linebacker in the state of Illinois and one of the most heavily recruited defenders in the 2027 class.
Igwebuike will take official visits to each of his finalists, including a trip to Knoxville the weekend of June 19. It will mark his third visit to Tennessee after attending the Orange and White Game last month and making his first trip to campus in Sept. of 2025 for the Georgia contest at Neyland Stadium.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Igwebuike is ranked No. 149 nationally and a top 10 prospect in Illinois. He holds more than 40 offers and has set his commitment date for July 11.
