It’s about damn time.
Vols wide receiver Chris Brazzell has finally been named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list on Wednesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.
The award is presented annually to college football’s most outstanding receiver.
Through five games, Brazzell has broken out as one of the SEC’s most dangerous receivers.
He currently leads the conference in receiving touchdowns with seven, receiving yards with 531, and receptions of 10-plus yards with 21, establishing himself as Joey Aguilar's top option and the SEC’s most productive wideout.
Brazzell, the Tulane transfer, has wasted no time in year two at Tennessee making his presence felt after a quiet debut season in Knoxville, only catching 29 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns before the arrival of Joey Aguilar from App State.
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation will announce the semifinalists and finalists for the award later this season, with the winner revealed at the College Football Awards Show in December.
