Tennessee hoops enter this week at 20‑9 overall and 10‑6 in SEC play, sitting in a tie for fourth place in the conference as the regular season winds down. The Vols have cooled off after their mid‑season surge, but their tournament résumé still features five Quad 1 victories, a No. 20 NET ranking, and a No. 18 KenPom ranking.

Joe Lunardi (ESPN)

Joe Lunardi still keeps Tennessee on the 5‑seed line after its 0-2 week, projecting the Vols to face 12‑seed Yale, the Ivy League leader, in Portland. A potential second-round matchup with Gonzaga could await Tennessee if they advance.

Jerry Palm (CBS Sports)

Palm also keeps Tennessee on the 5‑seed line, projecting the Vols to face 12‑seeded Miami (OH), the nation’s last undefeated team at 28-0, in Portland. If Tennessee advances, Palm projects a likely second-round matchup against Virginia.

Andy Katz (NCAA.com)

Katz did not move Tennessee down a seed line following the Vols’ 0‑2 week, keeping them as a 6 seed and also matched up with Miami (OH), as an 11 seed. His bracket sends Tennessee to Oklahoma City with a potential second‑round matchup against Nebraska.

 Kevin Sweeney (Sports Illustrated)

Sweeney has Tennessee on the 5‑seed line, sending the Vols to Tampa for a first‑round matchup with 12‑seed AAC leader USF. A potential second‑round showdown with Virginia looms if Tennessee advances.

Brad Wachtel (Hoops HQ)

Wachtel places the Vols as a 5 seed in Greenville, SC. His bracket pairs Tennessee with Yale in the opening round and also Virginia as the likely second-round opponent.

Mike DeCourcy (Fox Sports)

DeCourcy slots Tennessee as a 6‑seed, matching the Vols up in Oklahoma City against the winner of the First Four game between New Mexico and Santa Clara. If Tennessee moves on, a likely second‑round matchup with 3‑seed Iowa State would be waiting.

Tennessee plays at lowly 12-19 South Carolina tonight at 6 p.m. ET on SEC Network, and the Vols will have one more Quad 1 opportunity remaining when they host Vanderbilt on Senior Day at Thompson‑Boling Arena at FCC. The SEC Tournament begins next Wednesday, giving Tennessee a final chance to solidify its seeding before Selection Sunday.
