KNOXVILLE – Former Tennessee infielder Ariel Antigua is heading west to Arizona after three seasons on Rocky Top, AroundTheHorn first reported. Antigua becomes the latest Vol to announce his transfer destination after helping Tennessee capture the program’s first national championship two seasons ago.
Antigua played a key role during the Vols’ 2024 title run, appearing in the final two games of the College World Series finals against No. 3 Texas A&M as a true freshman. The Lake Worth (Fla.) native went on to appear in 64 career games across his three seasons in Knoxville.
This past season, Antigua saw limited action, appearing in 20 games as a junior while hitting .200 with a .702 OPS and 9 RBI. He recorded the first home run of his collegiate career in March during a midweek matchup against Oakland.
Listed at 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, Antigua becomes the second Volunteer to announce his transfer destination today, joining right-hander Sawyer Deering, who committed to San Diego State this morning.
