Former Vol baseball star Andrew Fischer has officially signed with the Milwaukee Brewers, kicking off his journey toward cheesehead country.

The Tennessee corner infielder agreed to a contract worth $3.5 million, per Baseball America's Carlos Collazo–a deal that comes in under the slot value of $4.27 million for the No. 20 pick earlier this month.

Fischer led all SEC players in 2025 with 25 home runs, reaching base in all 65 games played, and finishing with a 1.257 OPS.

The transfer from Ole Miss played one season in Knoxville, racking up 63 walks–tying a school-record held by Chase Headley, and ranking second in program history with 165 total bases.

Playing only first base for the Volunteers, Fischer was drafted as a third baseman by Milwaukee, a move that shows the Brewers goal in testing Fischer’s versatility.

Fischer is the second player from Rocky Top selected by Milwaukee in as many years, joining 2024 first-round pick Blake Burke in the Brewers farm system.
