Tennessee basketball is making a serious push for one of the nation’s elite recruits.
Four-star forward Latrell Allmond, ranked No. 27 nationally and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia, has trimmed his list to five schools and set a commitment date for Oct. 13, per Rivals’ Joe Tipton.
Allmond has narrowed his recruitment to Tennessee, Indiana, Oklahoma State, Maryland, and Virginia.
The 6-foot-8, 225-pound standout from Petersburg High School in Richmond has already taken official visits to each program and will wrap up the process with a trip to Maryland this weekend.
The Vols hosted Allmond the weekend of Sept. 13 for the Georgia game, allowing him to get a firsthand experience of the electric gameday atmosphere in Knoxville.
Over the summer on the 3SSB circuit, Allmond averaged 15 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 47.1% from three.
Rick Barnes and Co. made the versatile forward a priority target in the 2026 cycle, selling him on the opportunity to develop in the SEC while playing in front of one of college basketball’s best fan bases.
The Vols have emerged as a legitimate threat in this recruitment, though they’ll need to outlast several national powers.
