Former Vol Football running back Jabari Small is headed north to play for the Detroit Lions.

He’ll add depth to a Lions backfield that includes one of the top RBs in the league, Jahmyr Gibbs, along with David Montgomery.

Small had probably become accustomed to being in the state of Tennessee.

He grew up in Memphis, played college ball in Knoxville, and then went to Nashville to spend his rookie NFL season with the Titans.

Small played in 45 games at UT from 2020-23 and rushed for over 2,100 career yards before signing with the Titans as an undrafted free agent.

He was waived by the Titans and signed onto the practice squad last season.

Perhaps the Lions will have bigger plans for the VFL as he tries to establish a pro career.
