VFL Bru McCoy Is Hanging Up The Cleats

By Cody McClure

VFL wide receiver Bru McCoy announced late last night that he is retiring from the game of football.

McCoy noted that it was a medical retirement stemming from a debilitating ankle injury that he said could have been career-ending.

“This has been one of the toughest decisions of my life,” he said. “But after careful consideration with my doctors, family, and people closest to me I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the right path for my long-term health and well-being.”

He thanked Tennessee fans and Knoxville for all the love and support he’s received over the years. McCoy was a fan favorite who played with a tough spirit over the course of three seasons with UT.

He also happened to make one of the biggest catches in Tennessee history, which he will surely be most remembered for.
