Two Lady Vols Pick Up All-American Honors

Two Lady Vol Softball players have been announced as First Team All-American honorees by Softball America.

Karlyn Pickens and Taylor Pannell both picked up the honors after the regional tournament concluded this past weekend.

Pickens, who is a two-time SEC Pitcher of the Year, leads the country with a 0.90 ERA and 22-8 record on the season. This season she has also held opposing batters to a .168 batting average while pitching 252 strikeouts over 186.1 IP.

Pannell had the best season of her career, batting .399 including 65 hits, 62 RBIs, and 15 HRs.

The Lady Vols will be back this weekend against Nebraska in the Knoxville Super Regional hosted at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium with a spot in the WCWS on the line.
