KNOXVILLE – One of the top sharpshooters in the transfer portal is headed to Rocky Top.
Belmont graduate transfer guard Tyler Lundblade committed to Tennessee on Wednesday following a multi‑day visit to Knoxville, giving the Vols a huge early win in the transfer portal.
Lundblade, a Dallas native who began his career at SMU and TCU, arrived at Belmont as a walk-on, developing into one of the Missouri Valley Conference’s premier scorers, earning MVC Player of the Year honors in 2026. He averaged 15.6 points this past season while shooting 40.6% from three and an absurd 93.4% from the free throw line.
The 6‑foot‑5 guard has been one of college basketball’s most efficient shooters over the last two years. As a junior, in his first season at Belmont, he set a school record by knocking down 48.1% of his three’s across 33 games while averaging 12.1 points per contest.
For Tennessee, Lundblade’s ability to space the floor and score off the dribble efficiently at a high volume makes him a huge addition to Rick Barnes’ 2026-27 roster.
Lundblade’s commitment marks a significant addition for the Vols as they continue to reshape their roster for the 2026-27 season.
